In summer 2009, the Winnipeg Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) completed the template design for the online Canadian Education Portal as their pilot project. Since then, Director Military Family Services (DMFS) has developed in and out of Canada education transitional resources for the Portal. The result of these efforts will be featured as key components of the new www.FamilyForce.ca website launching in March 2010.

In addition to the new Portal, a stronger relationship has been forged with Dependent Education Management (DEM), which supports the education transitions of CF families with children. In an effort to increase CF families’ awareness of this resource, DMFS has added links to DEM on our website, and has published informative articles about DEM on this website and in the Maple Leaf. DMFS will continue to foster our relationship with DEM to ensure that CF families make full use of DEM’s valuable services.
