Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do in Military Family Services. To recognize the vital role that volunteers play in planning, delivering and evaluating high-quality programs for military families, SISIP Financial Services (SISIP FS) sponsors the Volunteer Recognition Program (VOREP). The VOREP acknowledges those who give their time and effort in support of Canadian Forces (CF) communities in Canada, the United States and in Europe. The VOREP also gives SISIP FS personnel the opportunity to help organize local events and contribute to the recognition of the critical role volunteers play in CF communities around the world.

From awards dinners to costume parties, Canadian/Military Family Resource Centres can acknowledge their volunteers with special events that are tailored their unique communities.

Over the past five years, over 25,000 adult and youth volunteers have been recognized at over 250 events, for a total contribution of $600,000. Though the program has grown and evolved, two things remain constant: the overwhelming difference that volunteers make in furthering the goals of the Military Family Services Program, and how a little recognition goes a long way.
