Children & Youth Services offers a wide range of programs for children and youth zero (0) to eighteen (18) years. Programs are designed to accommodate a variety of community needs, facilitate child/youth development and provide information and resources to Parents and Care Providers within the community.
Parent-Child Resource Program
The Parent-Child Resource Program (PCRP) provides early learning experiences for children 0-6 years and offers a variety of activities designed to provide support, resources and information sharing opportunities for Parents and Care Providers of young children.
Emergency Child Care Service
The Emergency Child Care Service (ECC) is designed to support the ability of CF members to be available for duty by providing access to quality affordable emergency child care in the event that there is an unforeseen event such as family illness or deployment. The ECC service is in place in the event that Family Care Plans, which CF members have in place, breakdown unexpectedly.
School-Age Program
The School-Age Program provides opportunities for social interaction and learning for children 6-12 years and offers a variety of activities designed to promote optimal development of children.
Youth Program
The Youth Program is designed to provide Youth between the ages of ten (10) and eighteen (18) years with a comprehensive range of appropriate programs, services and activities designed to support and enrich the lives of youth as visible and actively responsive members of the community.
Child Care Centre
The Child Care Centre provides a positive learning environment designed to facilitate child development for children between the ages of eighteen (18) months and five (5) years. The program is licensed under the Day Nurseries Act of Ontario and provides full-time and part-time care between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm.
- Nursery School
The Nursery School provides bilingual, educational programs for children between the ages of two and a half (2½) and five (5) years. The program is licensed under the Day Nurseries Act of Ontario and operates half-day programs from September to June.
- Best Start
Best Start provides a positive learning environment within the school setting designed to facilitate child development for children between the ages of three years, eight months (3.8 years) to five (5) years. The program is licensed under the Day Nurseries Act of Ontario and provides full-time, part-time and before/after school care between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm.
- Before and After School Care
Before and After School Care provides care between 7:00 am - 9:am and 3:00pm - 5:00pm during the school year for children six (6) to twelve (12) years who attend Angus Morrison Elementary School and the elementary schools on Base. Transportation is provided.
