Deployment Events

The MFRC Deployment Support program provides resources, programs, and support to CF families prior to, during and after a deployment.

A deployment means the assignment of military personnel on unaccompanied duty away from their normal Garrison/Base for a period of more than four weeks. Examples of this would be temporary duty, extended course, unaccompanied posting or overseas missions. Contact Denise at (780) 973-4011 ext 6304 for more information.

Please join us for Community Coffee on the last Friday of each month from 9 am to 11:30 am. Meet MFRC Staff, enjoy Tim Hortons coffee and timbits provided by our local Tim Hortons and meet other military families who understand the unique challenges of military family life.

Deployment Coffee
Come join the MFRC Deployment Staff, along with other families who have, who are currently, or who are about to experience a deployment.

When: First and Third Tuesday of each month

Monthly Pizza/Movie night
Come and enjoy a family movie, some pizza, refreshments and of course popcorn with the MFRC.

Teddy Bear Picnic
Calling all Teddy Bears! Be sure to tell your ‘family’ about this event celebrating our Teddy Bears and all plushy friends! Teddy Bear and picnic-themed activities, as well as light refreshments, will be offered.

Family Games Night
Come join MFRC Deployment Staff for a night of board games (bring your own or join a game), crafts and light refreshments.

Deployment Bowling Night
Bowling night for adult family members of deployed personnel. $5.00 fee includes 1 hour bowling, shoe rental and 1 hour bowling. Participants responsible for their own transportation.

Bus Trip to The Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market
Join us as we explore the historic Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market in the heart of Edmonton’s Old Strathcona neighbourhood. Transportation is provided.

Time: Depart from MFRC at 9 am - return to MFRC by 3 pm

Trip to Woodlands Water Spray Park
MFRC Deployment Staff will host a trip to Woodlands Water Spray Park in St. Albert. The water park also has a playground and picnic area. Families may bring their own picnic lunch and/or visit the concession. Bus will depart from and return to MFRC parking lot
