For Canadian Forces Families with Special Needs & Responsibilities
Military Family Resource Centres within Canada and abroad work to support Canadian Forces families. We offer community-based programming and we are responsive to the needs of our families.
Within our communities, there are families with special needs and responsibilities:
- Some families care for children with special needs
- Some families include a partner with health concerns
- Some families help support their aging parents
- Some families want to support a CF member with an operational injury
The Navigator Program website and the Navigator liaison at your local Military Family Resource Centre can assist you with your unique circumstances when it comes to:
- Relocation,
- Preparing for an upcoming deployment; and
- Finding direction when you’re not sure who to call.
If your family has special needs and responsibilities, we will help you find the support you need.
Upcoming Sessions
The Navigator program provides support, resources and networking opportunities for families with special needs through guest speakers and parent peer support. These families might include children with special needs or a learning disability, partners with health concerns, aging parents and/or a CF member with an operational injury. Drop ins are welcome on June 7. Call the MFRC at (780) 973-4011 ext 6300 to find out more about what is available.
