Many people consistently ask how they can support our troops. One of the best ways to show your support is by coming alongside and volunteering through the MFRC. The MFRC depends on passionate people who are eager to support our troops through supporting our programs and services. Volunteering not only gives you an opportunity to give back to our troops in an area of your interest but also can be a great way to meet new friends, cultivate community, learn a new skill, and gain valuable experience. There are many volunteer opportunities all throughout the year that suit a wide variety of interests. If volunteering your time to support our troops and their families is an investment you would like to make, please make an appointment with our Community Development Coordinator at (780) 973-4011 Ext. 2285.
How To Become A Volunteer
All volunteers of the MFRC need to be interviewed by the Community Development Coordinator and fill out three separate forms. The first form to fill out is our Volunteer Application Form. The second form is our Agency Agreement. The third form is our Confidentiality Agreement. All three of these forms can be downloaded from the Volunteer Resources page. Once these forms have been completed and your references checked, you are able to volunteer anywhere in our centre reward Children and/or teenagers.
If you wish to volunteer in any number of our children’s or teen programs you will need to complete our three in-house forms, Police Information Check form and a Child Intervention Check form. Both of these forms can be obtained by visiting the Community Development Coordinator. Once all five of these forms have been completed and returned to the Community Development Coordinator you will be given an orientation and trained by the appropriate MFRC staff. Once all these steps have been completed you may then volunteer in any program (licensed or unlicensed) in the MFRC. Volunteers receive appropriate levels of supervision according to their task, and are given regular opportunities to receive and give feedback.
