Whether you are new to the Garrison or have been here forever, we invite you to join us on the last Friday of the month for complimentary coffee and timbits from our local Tim Hortons. Get to know MFRC staff and make some new friendships.


Canadian Blood Services Mobile Blood Clinic

If you have questions about travel or medicates please call 1-888-2DONATE and talk to a nurse. If you have been to
Afghanistan you need to wait one year after returning to donate blood. In addition to the Blood Donor Clinic we will also be signing people up for the OneMatch program which is an International database of potential donors for anyone looking for a stem cell or bone marrow transplant. We will be looking for individuals who are in general good health and willing to donate to anyone.


Community Luncheon


Date and Time: Saturday Feb. 25 11:00AM – 1:30PM

Join the MFRC for lunch, and connect with other military families, while learning more about the MFRC and about other local resources. Crafts will be available for younger children and tours of the Centre will be offered. This information session will help you get to know the resources available to your family. Register two days prior.

Come enjoy a weekend of scrapbooking, socializing, and sustenance (lunch and snacks are included). Supplies are available for sale, and prizes to be won throughout the weekend. Begins Friday at 6:00 pm and ends Sunday at 3:00 pm. Registration opens six weeks prior to event, call to register.


Military 101

We are pleased to offer this fun and interactive 2-hour introduction to the military and the military lifestyle. Topics will include: overview of the Canadian Armed Forces, rank structure, acronyms and abbreviations, life on a military base, local resources and much more! Spouses and family members of new CAF members, families new to the Edmonton Garrison and all Defence Team members and their families are invited to attend.
