Community Coffee

Whether you are new to the Garrison or have been here forever, we invite you to join us on the last Friday of the month for complimentary coffee and timbits from our local Tim Hortons. Get to know MFRC staff and make some new friendships.

Loops for the Troops Fun Run and Walk
Sunday, June 5

The 8th annual Loops for the Troops Fun Run and Walk is held annually on Canadian Forces Day. The event attracts a wide range of participants each year. The event includes a half-marathon, ten km run, five km fun run and a military-mile family walk. The routes are looped on the trails of the base, offering participants a scenic tour of the Garrison. Enjoy the military vehicle displays, t-shirt, as well as a pancake breakfast. This event raises funds in support of the Edmonton MFRC. Register online

Base Wide Yard Sale & Business Registry Fair
Saturday, June 11
8:00 am to 3:00 pm

Search for the best bargains that the Lancaster Park community has to offer. Visit the Military Fitness Centre for your copy of the community yard sale map. The MFRC Business Registry will be displaying products ranging in beauty, cookware, household items and services and so much more in the MFRC Parking Lot! You’ll also be able to drop-by the Fat Franks Food Truck to purchase some of Edmonton's only professional Toronto-style Smokies and Hot Dogs!

Community Yard Sale
This event offers a great opportunity to sell your gently used books, clothing, housewares, furniture, toys & so much more!Lancaster Park residents can contact Community Recreation at (780) 973-4011 ext. 4392 by June 3 to have their address added to the yard sale map for $5.00. Families who live off base can register for a table in the MFRC Parking Lot for $10.00, call (780) 973-4011 ext. 6300 to register.

Business Registry Fair
Held in the MFRC Parking Lot, members of the MFRC Business Registry will be displaying products ranging in beauty, cookware, household items and services and so much more! The MFRC Business Registry is a collection of small and home-based businesses run by military members or their partners.

St-Jean Baptiste Day
Friday, June 24 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm

Celebrate French culture and traditions on Saint-Jean Baptiste Day at the MFRC with your family and friends. The event will include music, tattoos, games and a petting zoo. Concessions will be available for purchase, including poutine from La Poutine Food Truck and ice cream from the Blue Giraffe!

CFB Edmonton Canada Day Celebration
Friday, July 1

Held at Sir Winston Churchill Park (Edmonton Garrison) the daytime celebration will include face painting, bouncy inflatables, petting zoo, pony rides, food($), and new this year a big outdoor stage, live music, food, and beverages in the evening at the Edmonton Garrison Memorial GCC.

iSTEP Summer Program
July 26 – 28 
8:30 am to 12:30 pm

Be Your Own Super Hero! This program is for children ages 6 – 12 years, whose parent has an Operation Stress Injury. Expressive art and fun interactive activities will empower participants to develop ways to overcome their challenges and stressors and develop problem solving skills and coping tools that foster strong, resilient children. Open to Military and Veteran families. There is no cost to attend, snacks will be included.

If you have questions about travel or medicates please call 1-888-2DONATE and talk to a nurse. If you have been to Afghanistan you need to wait one year after returning to donate blood.

In addition to the Blood Donor Clinic we will also be signing people up for the OneMatch program which is an International database of potential donors for anyone looking for a stem cell or bone marrow transplant. We will be looking for individuals who are in general good health and willing to donate to anyone.
