Counselling 

GMFRC Social Worker 

We offer free short-term confidential prevention, intervention and consultation services to CF members and their families. This program is designed to enhance the families social functioning and emotional well-being as well as directly support those who have been affected by an individual or community crisis. To access these services contact our reception 422-2000 ext: 3352. To ensure confidentiality appointments are only arranged over the phone or in person.

Canadian Forces Members Assistance Program (CFMAP) 

This is a short-term counseling service. This program offers up to five free confidential counseling sessions to any military member or family member, by approved therapists on contract with the Department of National Defence and Health Canada. This service allows you to call from anywhere in Canada, 24hours a day, 365 days a year. This confidential service can provide immediate assistance over the phone or set-up and appointment with a counselor in your area. To access this service, please call 1-800-268-7708.

Sun Life Health Care Plan 

Also referred to as the Public Service Health Care Plan. Family members of CF members are covered by the military health care plan. Upon referral from a family doctor, family members are eligible to receive 80% coverage to a maximum of $1000 per year of service by a licensed psychologist in private practice. Mental Health Office 

The base Mental Health office offers both long and short-term confidential counseling for CF members and in some circumstances to spouses. Please contact the receptionist at 357-6482. Office hours are Mon-Fri, 8:00am - 4:00pm.
