Volunteer Leadership & Community Development

Orientation / Training / Flexible Hours / Friends / Fun

Welcome to the Volunteer Program. At the Gagetown Military Family Resource Centre (GMFRC), Volunteers play an essential role in our overall operations. The achievement of the goals of the GMFRC is best served by the active participation of our community members. To this end, Volunteers are involved at all levels of our organization. As a not-for-profit organization, we are governed by a Volunteer Board of Directors. Volunteers provide us with community input (members of our committees), expand our programs and services (facilitators and assistants), assist us with our special events and fundraisers and provide administrative support.

We support our Volunteers by providing an orientation to our programs/services, tour of the Centre, introduction of staff, review of our Volunteer Handbook, and opportunities for program evaluation. All GMFRC volunteers undergo an orientation/screening. As a registered volunteer, there are a number volunteer activities scheduled for you throughout the year. Many of these volunteer programs are volunteer driven, so your input and feedback is important.
