Family Liaison Prevention, Support
and Intervention Program Coordinator
(Full Time Contract Position - 13 month period)

The Kingston Military Family Resource Centre requires a full time Family Liaison Prevention, Support and Intervention Program Coordinator for 13 month contract position.

The Program Coordinator focuses on planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and coordinating services and programs with the overall goal to accomplish Military Family Services Program (MFRC) outcomes in relation to supporting families of CF personnel coping with illness, an injury, and/or special needs, or who have died in service. The Program Coordinator oversees, as well, the prevention, support and intervention programs.

Minimum qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor of Social Work Degree, preference will be given to MSW.
• Must be eligible for registration within their professional designation.
• Minimum of three years’ work experience in the social work field
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven counselling experience and group facilitation
• Strong crisis intervention skills
• Understanding of, and ability to use, strength based philosophy and approach
• Good knowledge of community resources
• Proven experience working directly with families, groups and community especially around loss, grief and trauma.
• Experience developing, coordinating, implementing and managing intervention and prevention programs
• Exceptional understanding of the unique military life-style issues facing CF families
• Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills
• Bilingual capacity, mandatory

Family Liaison Prevention, Support
and Intervention Worker
(Full Time Contract Position - 12 month period)

The Kingston Military Family Resource Centre requires a full time Family Liaison Prevention, Support and Intervention Worker for a 12 month contract position.

The Family Liaison Prevention, Support and Intervention Worker position is responsible for the development, implementation and delivery of support services and programs to CF families including families who are coping with an ill or injured member. This includes initial and continued contact with military families, assessment and referral, short term individual, couple and family counselling and/or crisis intervention, group work, program development, and educational services.

Minimum qualifications:
• Minimum Bachelor of Social Work and eligible for registration within the Ontario College of Social Workers (OCSW)
• Exceptional understanding of the unique military life-style issues facing CF families
• Understanding of, and ability to use, strength based philosophy and approach
• Proven experience working directly with families, groups and community especially around loss, grief and trauma
• Good knowledge of community resources
• Bilingual capacity, mandatory
