The Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC) is a Not-For-Profit charitable organization that provides programs    and services to the Canadian Forces Members and their Families. The services range from a Welcome BBQ to Life Skills Workshops and Family Separation and Reunion briefings.

Other programs are dedicated to helping the children and youth of the CF Family to participate in activities with their school friends and others from the community. Peer support from the MFRC offers a sense of normalcy to the hectic and often up-rooted life style of a CF Family. To assist the family members who have had an injury or death in the family, the MFRC offers information and referral services  to the local community’s health care professionals. In extreme cases the MFRC will provide direct emergency child care and respite care.

Our mandate is to provide for the unique life style of the family of a serving member in the Canadian Armed Forces.

Our friendly staff is available Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and we are located in two main offices:

Vancouver Centre                                 Chilliwack Centre

The Yellow Ribbon is a tradition that started when the female lead of the classic 1949 movie "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" to express her undying love for a Calvary Officer. The Calvary uniform had a Yellow Stripe down the pants, thus the yellow ribbon.

Today the Yellow Ribbon is worn across Canada to show support for the safe return of our troops.
