Military Family Identification Card (MFID) 

The MFID or "discount card" is a nationally recognized identification card that includes the signature of the military member. It can be used to receive military discounts. The MFID is available to immediate military family members including spouses, common-law partners, Military Mothers and Fathers and the military children who are age 13 and over.

The MFID is available to families of both Regular and Reserve Force members.

Mainland BC Military Family Resource Centre is responsible for the MFID program. Please contact office@bcmfrc.com to make an appointment to come in and get your MFID.

  Application Process:

  • Call the MFRC to make an appointment.
  • In Vancouver area Jordan or Theresa @ 604-225-2520 (ext 2550 or 2518)
  • In Chilliwack area Stephanie 604-858-1011 (ext 1195)
  • Both military member & family member must be present at this appointment.
  • Military members will need to produce their Military ID Card
  • Family member will need proof of identification (such as a birth certificate, passport or driver’s license.)
  • Close up picture of family  member will be taken by MFRC staff
  • Information will be recorded in the computer, the card processed & then printed.
  • CF member must sign the front & family member must sign the back of the card.
  • Card will then be laminated and then it's done.
