Board of Directors

The Military Family Resource Centre of the National Capital Region (MFRC-NCR) is governed by a community-based volunteer board to ensure accountability and responsiveness to the needs of its own particular community. The composition of the MFRC-NCR board includes at least 51 percent civilian spouses of Canadian Forces members. They represent community residents and clients, and generally reflect the population of the community.

The MFRC-NCR is federally incorporated because its mandate spans two provinces (Ontario and Quebec). The Board is an independent employer that is funded to work in partnership with the local Commander (Commandant of CFSU Ottawa) to serve Canadian Forces families.

The 2011-2012 MFRC-NCR Board of Directors is dedicated to build on the achievement of the past few years and to continue to serve the families of the Canadian Forces.

Introducing our Chair, MWO Luc Jacques

MWO Jacques joined the Canadian Forces in 1983 as an MSE OP and has been a volunteer with MFRCs for 14 years in Bagotville, London and Valcartier where he held key Board positions. MWO Jacques is enthusiastic about the unique challenges and potential to expand MFRC services to military families in the NCR. He will be chairing a Board with three additional new members Wendy Doucet who was elected Vice-Chair and will chair the Fundraising Committee, Mark Thompson who was elected Treasurer and will chair the Financial Committee and Sylvie Duhaime who will chair the Policy Committee. MWO Jacques replaces Manuela Lacroix who stepped down from the position but who will remain an active Board member as Past Chair. Mrs Lacroix's service on the executive is greatly appreciated and we look forward to her continued involvement.
