Programs for Children 


Our children’s programs are designed to provide safe, stimulating environments for children to interact with their peers and to grow in new directions. We offer before- and after-school drop-in programs, respite child care programs for parents who need a few hours to themselves, pre-school programs, and seasonal fun programs. Licensed Programs

Early Learning Centre Nursery School

This bilingual nursery school run by our qualified Early Childhood Educators offers Canadian Forces children aged 2.5 to 5 years old fun activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and intellectual learning. Activities include cooking activities, music and art time, field trips, and more. Civilian/Non-military children are welcome.

September 2011 to June 2012
Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Option of extended hour (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.) available.

Busy Bees

An afternoon French Immersion preschool program where children 3 to 5 years of age will be introduced to the French language through fun, creative play experiences. Program will also reinforce the language and develop a vocabulary with children who already understand French.

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 1:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Fun in the Sun

Summer is right around the corner... which means we have started the registration for our summer program. Your 2.5 to 5 year old child's mornings will be filled with creativity, crafts, water and messy play and lots of fresh air!

Kinder Klub Kindergarten Program

This program is a licensed day care for children Junior Kindergarten and Senior Kindergarten who are attending morning or afternoon kindergarten but want to participate in supplemental learning for the remainder of the day. This recreational group is designed by Early Childhood Educators.

Kids’ Klub Before & After School Program

This program gives school-aged children the opportunity to explore their skills. In a clubhouse atmosphere, children plan and carry out a variety of activities, including cooperative games, sports, arts and crafts, drama, and cooking. 

 

Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Kool Kidz Drop-in & Gymnasium

 

Kool Kids provides a structured program for children 5-8 years old to enjoy an opportunity to meet and make friends while participating in recreational activities and games. Fees: $1 per visit.

An interactive and stimulating music & movement program for infants and children up to age 4 and their parents. Children love to dance, sing, clap, bang and move. Letting them explore these activities in a fun group setting helps them to develop language, concentration, social, motor, listening and many other skills.

Play & Learn Drop-In

A playgroup for parents and caregivers with children ages birth to six years old. This program offers a place to meet other parents, interact with your child, and get some parenting resources.

Saturday Morning Family Playgroup

An exciting Saturday morning drop-in program for parents and children ages birth to six years. Come and enjoy some play time with your child while meeting and interacting with other Canadian Forces families. The program includes free play, crafts, and circle time. A bilingual playgroup is offered the last Saturday of every the month.

A happy playroom for parents and caregivers seeking a time and place to bond with their children and friends. Parents are responsible for cleaning up after play time.

Baby Playgroup

A playgroup for parents with babies (0 to 12 months). Come and share parenting issues with an educator and other parents. This program will help parents develop a support network.

First Words Screening Clinic

Free language screening for children (15 months to 4 yrs). Discuss concerns with a Speech-Language Pathologist who will check your child for signs of a speech or language delay. Ontario residents only, bring your child's Ontario Health Card.

Deployment Support Programs

Children’s Deployment Support Program
This program will help build a climate of trust and safety for children of deployed Canadian Forces parents, and help them to talk about their feelings and develop coping mechanisms. Free pizza and soft drinks.

Deployment Respite Child Care Programs

 We know that Canadian Forces life can add some additional challenges to child care. Our respite child care programs offer parents and caregivers a chance to take a few hours for themselves, while ensuring the safe and stimulating care of their children. Families of deployed Canadian Forces members are eligible to receive a few hours of free child care per month (up to $50.00 per month).

Children’s Corner- Morning

We offer child care to children ages six months to five years while parents and caregivers take some time for themselves. Supervised by qualified child care staff. Rates are $15.00 for one child; $21.00 for two children; and $25.00 for three children. Pre-registration is required.

 Friday Fun Days
This program provides monthly respite child care for children ages one to six years old. Qualified staff are on hand. Pre-registration is required. $12.00 for one child; $20.00 for two siblings; and $23.00 for three siblings.

Saturday Time Away


An afternoon and evening respite care program for all military parents seeking adult time.This can be an important support service for spouces during deployments. Space is limited.  Please register one week in advance.

 Children With Special Needs Programs

The Navigator Program is for Canadian Forces families with special needs and responsibilities, including those families with children with special needs. Visit the Navigator Program website to find local community resources and connect with other military families from across the country who face similar challenges.
