Deployment Support Programs
Military Family Peer Helper Program (Adults)
Let someone who has "been there, done that" help you through the challenges of deployment. This program pairs those in need with peer helpers to get together informally and chat about their experiences, either by phone, email, or in person. Confidentiality is a key element.
Want to become a peer helper? Contact the Family Seperation and Reunion Team.
Children’s Deployment Support Program
This program will help build a climate of trust and safety for children of deployed Canadian Forces parents, and help them to talk about their feelings and develop coping mechanisms. Free pizza and soft drinks.
Offered on an as-needed basis
Respite Child Care
We know that deployment makes parenting more challenging. Families of deployed military members are eligible to receive a few hours of free child care per month (up to $50.00 per month). A child care receipt will be provided in your Deployment Package. All child care receipts should be sent to the MFRC-NCR for reimbursement no later than 30 days after the child care service has been completed.
Please note that the MFRC-NCR is not responsible for finding child care.
