MY BODY’S MY BODY
This three week course for children six to nine years old and their parents will help to open the dialogue between children and their parents about sexuality. Each of the three hours will use the NFB film "My Body's Nobody's Body but Mine" as well as use activities to reinforce messages about when and how to say "No". A one hour program can be adapted for preschoolers and their parents. Uplands: Offered yearly as needed. READY TO BE ALONE
This program is designed especially for the pre-teen to help prepare them for the occasions when they may be left on their own at home for any length of time. Both parents and children need to feel safe when children are home alone. This course will provide that safety cushion before you need it. Cost: $21.00. Uplands: Offered in spring and fall. BABYSITTER COURSE (Canada Safety Council)
For ages 12 and up. Participants will be taught how to care for babies, toddlers, pre-schoolers, and school-aged children. They will also learn about house safety, first aid, and age-appropriate activities. Cost: $30. Offered at Uplands in Fall and Spring. OCCASIONAL CHILD CARE (Across the NCR)
Are you in need of occasional childcare? Arrangements can be made by appointment and advance notice only. The child will either be integrated in regular programs or the MFRC premises will be used and a provider arranged for. Payments will be arranged between the parent and the person providing care.
