Our Child and Parent Programs (CAPP) division offers a variety of parent groups and workshops geared to support the growth and development of Canadian Forces parents and caregivers. Most of our programs (like the ones listed below) do not require pre-registration.

Calling All Orleans Families!

A playgroup exclusive to military families.

Gatineau Meet & Greet

A bilingual parent outreach program for Gatineau families. Talk amongst adults while tots enjoy supervised play in the adjacent room.

Coffee Break

Parents and caregivers can meet and connect with new and old friends while children (ages six months to six years) play in a supervised and stimulating environment with educators. Coffee is always on!

Learning Together

Parents and caregivers can participate in parenting workshops while children (6 months -6 yrs) take part in a child-based activity program. Every week offers a different workshop theme.

Parent Coaching

Are you having difficulties with your child? Does he/she have special needs or behavioural issues? We offer home parenting support to help reinforce good skills and develop new tools.

Parents as Teachers

Our Parent Educators conduct home visits throughout the year to help parents become better teachers for their children ages three years and under. Limited space.

How To Talk So Kids Will Listen 
This workshop will be particularly useful to parents of young children who are frustrated about being ignored or tuned out. It is based upon the book and videos by Adele Faber, a well known writer and educator. Child care available on registration.

May 1st, 15th and 29th, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Fee of $15 for the 3 evenings

St John's First Aid, CPR Level C and AED Certification
This training is offered to staff, volunteers and community members. The recertification is required every year for CPR and AED, and every 3 years for First Aid. Minimum of 10 people required

Uplands MFRC, June 16 and 17

Fee for First Aid and CPR: $80
Fee for CPR only: $20

CPR level C     Saturday June 16 (morning only)
First Aid            Weekend of June 16 and 17, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Navigator Program

The Navigator Program is for Canadian Forces families with special needs and responsibilities, including those families with children with special needs. Visit the Navigator Program website to find local community resources and connect with other military families from across the country who face similar challenges.
