Mission Statement
The Teen Scene: Petawawa Youth Centre provides a safe environment free of discrimination for all teens in the community so that they may enjoy the healthy and active living programs we offer.

The Teen Scene: Petawawa Youth Centre engages youth and adults as partners in the collaborative process of creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing environment for young people in Petawawa.

Shopping Trips
The Teen Scene: Petawawa Youth Centre offers teens in the community the opportunity to participate in an Ottawa shopping trip several times a year.
Day Trips
Our Day Trips provide the opportunity to try something new! Activities include visits to the Calypso Water Park, whitewater rafting, and trips to Mont Cascades Ski Resort, Canada's Wonderland, and Buck Hill.
Battle of the Bands
Youth bands compete for the top prize. Bands are judged on certain criteria and given overall scores. This event is run bi-annually at the end of April.
Friday Night Feast
Each participant brings an item to contribute to the month’s featured feast. This program gives youth an opportunity to learn some cooking basics and have a good time.

Youth Involvement
Teen Council
"Stand Up and Be Heard!" This is your opportunity to have a say in what happens at the Teen Scene Petawawa Youth Centre. Teen Council is a formal group made up of Canadian Forces youth, as well as youth from within the greater Petawawa community. Bi-weekly meetings are held on Mondays at the South Side Community Centre.

Sports
The Community Recreation Program offers youth the opportunity to participate in basketball, ball hockey, and tackle football.

Important Notes
Pre-registration is necessary for all programs. All programs are subject to minimum numbers to operate. Make sure teens have their Teen Access Card (TAC) to be able to participate!
The Youth Activities Coordinator is continually searching for ideas to get local youth actively involved, so if you have an idea to share, phone the Rec Plex to have it heard.
