An Emergency Child Care Plan is a written document that outlines your regular child care arrangements along with your backup and emergency child care plans. We recommend giving a copy of this document to your emergency contact person.
What Is an Emergency Contact Person?
An emergency contact person is the person who you’d entrust your children to should something happen to you. Keep the name and phone number of your emergency contact person on a fridge magnet and in your wallet so that an emergency worker can find this information quickly.
Emergency Child Care Plan
Our Emergency Child Care Plan is a detailed form outlining important information regarding your child in the event that an emergency should occur. When completed, the document becomes crucial in providing the best care for your child when you or your regular child care provider is not available.
Points To Consider When Filling Out Your Emergency Child Care Plan
- Include your whole family when preparing your plan—your spouse, your parents, your extended family, and your children (if they are old enough to understand).
- Tell the people you list that they are part of your Emergency Child Care Plan.
- Anticipate travel arrangements that may be needed.
- Don’t forget about your pets. Make arrangements for them, too.
