Frequent relocations are a reality of military life and may contribute to a sense of isolation and lack of connection with a community. To enhance CF quality of life, the CSMFRC Inc. provides information, activities, and services that help to welcome and orient families to their new community and assist in making their transition as smooth as possible.

The CSMFRC Inc. coordinates or works with other community agencies to offer:

• Contact with the member and his/her family prior to their arrival with an Information Package about Detachment Dundurn & area and a Welcome Package when they reach their destination.
• An annual Welcome Family Fun Day, which is held for newly posted military members & their families as well as for established members of the community.
• Various social opportunities, planned throughout the year to help military families connect and to feel welcomed in their new neighbourhood.
• Information and referral services that provide families with knowledge of their new location.
