The CSMFRC Inc. promotes personal growth, skills development, and social and community engagement. Various classes, workshops, training sessions and special events are held throughout the year based on information received from the CF community through a Community Needs Assessment survey. The planned activities are meant to complement (rather than duplicate) the work of existing community supports and activities. Whenever possible, linkages are formed with other community groups and agencies to meet the needs of the community. A comprehensive list of programs and services offered by community partners is maintained.
The MFSP and the CSMFRC Inc. relies heavily on volunteers to help plan, coordinate, and facilitate these activities. You are encouraged to contact your Centre, if you are interested in volunteering, or if you have a suggestion for a workshop or class that you believe others would also be interested in.
Employment & Education Assistance
Many families of CF members have voiced frustration with the challenges that relocations place on meeting their educational and employment goals. The Employment and Education Assistance service assists civilian spouses and youth in meeting their educational and employment goals by providing access to information about employment resources, local schools, and training and education options available in the community. Civilian spouses and youth are provided with access to job search and career development assistance.
The CSMFRC Inc. coordinates or works with other community agencies to offer:
-
Information about local schools when posted to a new community.
-
Information about options for training and education.
-
Information about employment resources available in the community.
