Infants & Preschoolers 


The Shilo MFRC aims to offer programs to enhance the development of children from newborn to 17 years old. Programs are free of charge or ask for a minimal fee to cover supplies and materials.

Some of the programs we offer for infants and preschool age children are:

Welcome to the World Baby Quilt
Have a new arrival? Bring them by the MFRC and receive a free baby quilt hand made by our volunteers.

The Learning Circle
Children's Services Parent/Child Family Literacy Program
The Learning Circle (TLC) The aim of this program is to enhance the parent’s role as the child’s first teacher. This is done through structured and unstructured activities. There are new topics and themes scheduled each week from September - April. There is no fee for this program and healthy snacks are provided for participants.

Tumbleweeds Playgroup
A playgroup to run, tumble and jump with only a $1.00 drop in fee; every Tuesday 9:30 - 11:30am.

Relaxation Station
Do the stressors of deployment and everyday life affect your preschooler? This program includes pre-school yoga, journaling and craft on your mat.

Other programs running throughout the program year include:

  • Infant Massage
  • Signing with Baby
  • Wiggle, Giggle, Munch
  • Tiny Toes Summer Day Program 
  • Monthly themed parties
