The Personal Development programs are offered to enhance all aspects of military family life. These programs provide individuals with opportunities to connect with others and develop their interpersonal skills and abilities.

Courses & Workshops
General Guidelines

Each course will require a minimum of six (6) participants in order to run, unless otherwise stated.

Participants may cancel and receive full refund up to seven calendar days before the start of the course.

With less than seven (7) days notice, the participant will forfeit their enrollment fee.

In the case of inclement weather, every effort will be made to reschedule the course, based on the availability of instructor and space.

If the course cannot be rescheduled, a refund will be issued

Why Programs Get Cancelled:
Last minute registrations can be the death of a good program or event! Our programming staff check registration numbers one week prior to a program start dat. If registration numbers are too low, the program has to be cancelled.

Belly Dancing with Cindy Vieau

Beginner class
Belly dancing is a fun way to exercise and learn how to isolate body movements. Far East music, veils, zills are all part of the art of belly dancing.

Intermediate class
Must have taken the beginner class.You will be working on dance routines and may have the opportunity to perform in the community.
A beginner class to learn Belly Dancing will be starting along with an Intermediate class for those wanting to continue on with dancing. The classes will run 8 weeks. You may register at the MFRC or for more information call 613-392-2811-2382.

Beginner  Tuesday–– 7:00-8:30pm
Intermediate Monday– 7:00- 8:30pm
The cost is $50.

Triple P-Positive Parenting Program
A course will be running in the spring, dates yet to be confirmed. If you are interested in placing your name on a wait list or to find out more call Susan Stoddard.

Triple P is a parenting program which promotes positive, caring relationships between parents and their children. Parents learn effective strategies for dealing with a variety of childhood developmental and behavioral issues. Triple P helps Parents:

  • manage their child's behavior in a constructive and caring way.
  • develop good communication and strong relationships with their children.
  • Learn positive parenting skills that may be applied to a broad range of parenting situations.

Children who grow up with positive parenting are more likely to feel good about themselves to develop their potential! Triple P offers information, support, and practical answers for you and your family.
The following three power point seminars are geared for parents with children 2-12 years of age.

  • Seminar #1-The Power of Positive Parenting
  • Seminar# 2-Raising Confident Competent Children
  • Seminar #3-Raising Resilient Children

Triple P One -on- One Consultation
Triple P offers one-on-one consultations over a four week period which will assist you with strategies and techniques to use in your home to reduce unwanted children's behaviors ranging from Toddlers to 12 years old and promote positive parenting.
