Home Leave Travel Assistance (HLTA)

Home Leave Travel Assistance (HLTA) is an entitlement provided to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members who are authorized Special Leave (Mission) earned on deployed operations.

The intent of HLTA is to assist a member who is deployed or assigned to a place of duty outside Canada to reunite on leave with an eligible family member, by paying or reimbursing eligible transportation expenses.

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) administers the HLTA Program on behalf of CAF members. Governed by the Military Foreign Service Instructions (MFSI) and direction provided by the Director Compensation and Benefits Administration (DCBA) and Canadian Joint Operations Command (CJOC), Personnel Support Programs (PSP) Deployment Support Staff provide policy guidance, coordination of travel services and claims administration in support of CAF members participating in the program.

CAF members tasked to deploy on international operations are normally briefed on the HLTA program and their individual mission specific entitlements during their pre-deployment training.

For additional information on the HLTA Program or PSP Deployment Support to the HLTA program, please contact PSP HLTA.
