Hero in Training - Relocation Resources for Children

Relocating your family is a challenging, exciting and busy time. We have developed the Hero in Training Activity Book, for children ages 6-8, to keep your kids occupied as you prepare for the move, travel, and settle your new home.

Discover activities that will help your child prepare for the move, learn about making new friends, build their confidence, get excited about their new home, and manage their emotions through this life-changing process. Skills for life!

To understand how these activities build life skills, look at the legend on page 3 of the activity book. Match the relevant life skills icon in the legend to the icon at the top of each activity page. Once your child has completed the book, check in with them to see what they’ve learned. The final pages of the book guide you and your child through this process.

Parents are encouraged to join our fan club to receive helpful tools and resources, alongside with receiving a welcome gift package from Bobbi and Peri (limited amounts available).

Hero in Training Activity Book

Each of the many activities in the booklet help kids on their hero journey with the guidance of superheroes Bobbi and Peri. All that children need are a pen or pencil and colouring crayons, as well as a tablet, smartphone or other device to access online resources.

All 15 of the ‘missions’ in the activity have categories that cover preparing for the move, travelling to the new location, checking in with thoughts and feelings, preparing to share and make new friends, and actually arriving at and settling into their new home.

When each ‘mission’ is finished, answers can be found by scanning the QR Code on Page 3 of the booklet – and children can learn their Hero Skills Score.

Hi! My name is Peri!

I live in Western Canada, and I too had to move around from time to time. My favourite food is spaghetti. My favourite activity is painting. My favourite book is Stand Like a Cedar by Nicola I. Campbell. My favourite subject is History. My favorite color is Army Green. I am bilingual and I love dancing to country music.

You are probably wondering why my name is Peri. I am named after the branch that PSP is founded by.

Meet my friend Bobbi!

Hello, there! I’m Bobbi!

I live in Eastern Canada. I moved quite a few times too, just like Peri. My favourite food is blueberry pancakes. My favourite activity is basketball. My favourite book is Anne Arrives by Kallie George. My favourite subject is Maths. My favorite colour is navy blue. I am also bilingual and I love signing to east coast music.

You are also probably wondering why my name is Bobbi. I am named as a tribute to PSP Manager Roberta (Bobbi) Howard Muir who was known for her leadership skills, her sense of humour and love of sport.
