VFP Transition Programs

For medically releasing CAF members, medically released Veterans and their families at Military Family Resource Centres (MFRCs) across Canada.  

Offered through the Veteran Family Program. Located in 32 MFRCs, Veteran Family Program Coordinators are available to provide information and referral expertise in support of families accessing civilian service providers.

Operational Stress Injury Resource for Caregivers

- Provides information about Operational Stress Injuries (OSI), the effect it can have on caregivers, and strategies for coping; 

- Support caregivers that are supporting a loved one with and OSI; 

- An online resource that can be accessed individually. 

- In partnership with Veterans Affairs Canada, Royal Ottawa Health Care Group and the Federal Government. 

 

Mental Health First Aid for Veteran Community

- Focuses on increasing skills and confidence to engage in conversations about mental health while decreasing stigma and promoting recognition of common mental health problems; 

- Facilitated group sessions; 

- Tailored to the Veteran community and those that support them. 

- Offered in partnership with the Mental Health Commission of Canada. 

Veteran Family Journal

- Tool for navigation your personal transition journey and identifying your needs; 

- Includes various tools and worksheets, as well as extended family care plans. 

COPE:  Couples Overcoming PTSD Everyday

Designed for couples to gain an understanding of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and how it can impact their relationship and the family. Learn coping skills and insights to help manage living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. 


SRP: Spousal Resiliency Program

Designed to bring together spouses of CAF Veterans who are struggling with the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Learn coping skills and insights to help manage living with a partner with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Aimed at helping family members see the transition to post-service life as a time of growth and development.
